does anyone know if it is okay to eat straight after exercising, because i have read in an e book that you should drink a protein shake and eat also after exercise?? Thats exactly what i do exercise, then drink a protein shake along with food. Is that the right way to do it??????????

RE: Does any one know....
for me I have a protein shake with no carbs immediately after my workouts. I have read that HGH production peaks somewhere within 1 hour after your workout so carbs will do that no good. I'll have my solid meal approx 1 hour after workout. This method is ideal for optimum HGH production.
If you are bulking though, and want muscle mass, you need to have a protein shake and a high GI carb with it as well after your workout.

After exercising your metabolism is very high, so if anything you eat will be digested at a fast rate. It would be best to eat anything that has a high amount of proteins in it, like meat, preferably chicken because it's low on fat. Hgh release can be increased by a low blood sugar level, so the less carbs you eat, the more hgh is secreted into your blood. As long as you're not eating too many carbs, i think you're doing good.
