Background:
Name-Dustin L
Age-16 (9/5/92)
Weight-120 pounds
Body Type: Athletic, abs, rip arms and thighs and muscles in the calves.
Goal-Grow at least 2 inches by 2009.
Genetics-Dad at prime-5'8, Mom at prime-5'5
According to WMD height predicting calculator my max potential height is 5'9
My Plan:
Activity Time Quantity
Biking-30mins-5 times a week
Running/Jogging/Sprints-30mins-2 Times a day/7 days a week
Tennis/Basketball-2 Hours a day/7 days a week
8-10 Hours of sleep-7 days a week
3 Pints of milk-Vitamins
More protein intake and green vegetables-Everyday
HELP ME WITH THESE QUESTIONS THAT KEEP ME UP AT NIGHT.
1. DOES JUMPING WITH ANKLE WEIGHTS DO ANYTHING BENEFICIAL FOR HEIGHT GROWTH IN THE LEGS?
2. WHAT KIND OF FOOD SHOULD I EAT SPECIFICALLY TO INCREASE HEIGHT?
3. WHAT KIND OF EXERCSIES/ACTIVITIES ARE THE MOST BENEFICIAL OR MOST EFFECITVIVE FOR HEIGHT GROWTH?
4. IF YOU DO NOT REACH YOUR GOAL HEIGHT BY THE TIME YOUR 18, SHOULD I USE LIMB LENGTHING AS AN ATERNATIVE?

My advice? stop doing half that stuff cause it wont help. Instead, pickup some weights.
Take EFA oil. Take a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement to ensure your getting proper nutrition.
Additionally, measure your height at the same time of day everytime.
Thats the LEAST you can do.

You're young...you'll most likely grow anyways. Just get a good diet and a lot of sleep.

Oh yeah sleep, something I always forget to mention.
Body does basically all its growing during sleep!! very important stuff.
and to add to that; eat a high protein meal with vitamins and minerals as well and even essential fatty acids too, RIGHT before you goto bed. Your gonna need all the nutrients you can get during that 8 hour coma. This is by far the most important meal of the day. The only meal that could even come close, is a post-workout meal if your doing weight lifting, which you should be. Weight bearing exercise is light years ahead of any other exercise as a promoter of bone growth.

I read from somewhere that you should never eat a large meal 2 hours before bed because then your pituitary gland stops excreting growth hormones or not as much.

ehh, this is iffy at best. most bodybuilders eat a high protein snack before bed. heightfx has said that eating a good snack before bed helps him recuperate faster than normal and prevents his muscles from hurting the next day.... the best thing to try would be to drink a little milk before bed and eat some cheese one night, and then the next night, eat some meat before bed with an oyster. the oyster will give you zinc which is really good for most metabolic processes, but make sure that you don't eat oysters with milk or cheese because the calcium will prevent your body from absorbing the zinc.

yea bro just make your muscles lean!! listen if you do heavy weight your muscles curl up and get big right...our thing is made up of muscles.. so you dont wanna do that... if you make your muscles lean like doing pilates or whatnot your actually elongating your muscles which goes along with bone growth.. but it might not work for everybody... your body has its own schedule of when to grow... dude im 5'4" and i was 5'2" 2 yrs ago.. ihave a steady rate of growing an inch a yr.. so basically if this continues for 4 more yrs i can still get to 5'8" or more...dont worry man growing ends at 25 dependng on your genes... your bones might have stopped growing but not your catilages... im taking anatomy classes that how i know!
