Interesting view...questions for HeightFX and everyone

I read most of your posts and I believe you are correct. You said that you cant grow after the age of 18. You can stretch the cartilage but it will go back to normal once you stop.

But the guy called pieces grew soooo much in summer and he was around 18. And this foster guy, 22 years old, from easyheight ......http://easyheight.com/foster.htm........grew 2 inchs in the spine and it was permanent.

I've read up sites and it says that the spine does not fuse like the long bones do. So maybe the HGH produced from fosters cycling made his spine GROW (not just STRETCH and go back to normal after inactivity for most people). So to gain height in the spine, generating alot of HGH might be necessary just like foster says.

Relating to the shinbone routine from http://www.easyheight.com. I agree with Heightfx that bones cant really be stretched. But I also know that bone remodels throughout our lifetime by osteoclast and osteoblast. osteoblast = creates new bone. osteoclast = takes away old bone. Normally these 2 activities are equal. But when there is more bone taken away than replaced, you get Osteoporosis. And we all know that giving stress to the body makes it respond. Give muscles a hard time and it goes stronger. Give bone high impact and it REMODELS into stronger bones.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yENNqRJ2mu0

So maybe the success stories at easyheight such as Andy, vulcrum and Evan, all did NOT stretch their bone with the ankle weights. But due to their exercise, the bones had microfractures, meaning there is higher remodelling which we all know. And due to the heavy ankle weights, the bones REMODELLED into a slighter longer bone each time.

I believe their shin bones grew from remodelling not their knee because they felt pain in their shins when they got results and only slight pain in the knee.

I would like your view on this Heightfx as well from others

Thanks

i plan to do it, do u think the touching the ball to the ground help with anything? also do i need to do ankle weight to gain height or can i just not do ankle weight

gone where?

Gamepro60 : I wouldn't really know. I know if your plates are open than you can. I have been doing intense running with 32 lb ankle weights and I haven't gained anything in 1 week. Normally its expected to gain atleast 2 mm in shins. I measured my shin accurately and so far nothing.

can bones get stronger just from repetitively squeezing it hard for a long time?

RE: Interesting view...questions for HeightFX and everyone

you're right about the first part, growth plates in the spine remain open longer than those in the legs. These in the legs usually fuse around the age of 18 (d'oh) but in some individuals they fuse at a different age, so it's only natural that some people report natural growth at the age of 22 or even up to 27... All this was confirmed by a doctor who teached me last year. She also taught us about bone remodelling; i have to disappoint you though, osteoblast cells don't make bones longer, only heavier and thicker. The lenght of a bone is defined by the growth plates, at the end of the bones. (the top of the bone is covered with articular cartilage which doesn't grow, but plays an essential role in the function of joints, so this layer can't be covered with bone material; only the growth plates allow growth)
that teacher of mine did state more than once that young people can still grow even after the age of 20!

height 6'3
age 18
starting height at 16: 5'9.5
parents height: both 5'7

oh and, forget about the ankle weight routine. those who invented it didn't realize that by applying traction on a joint (in this case the knee joint) you won't grow your shins, nor your knees, but the structures which surround the knee joint, ligaments and such, get elongated, so your joint becomes instable!!

1. ahhh i see. would you know roughly what age the growth plates in the spine fuse?

2. so the people who grew by raised seat cycling such as leo in this site "http://easyheight.com/how_2_bike3.htm", probably gained the inches due to their open growth plates? hmmm

3. so if the articular cartilage cant be stretched, and leg growth plates closed, then doing raised seat cycling wouldn't give any height?

4. u said the doctor even said its possible for someone to grow in their 20s. did he/she say how?

After reading this I'm still not 100% sure so I'll ask:
Do you mean that cycling does not increase the length of the shin bone GIVEN THAT THE PLATES HAVE CLOSED? I read on a previous thread that cycling produces HGH in legs which helps growth in this area, doesnt matter if its raised seat or not. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

I also learnt something at school the other day, might be interesting to some people. Height is a polygenic charactersitic meaning it is determined by the interaction of multiple genes. To grow tall you need the genes to grow tall and the gene to produce growth hormone. Some people have one but lack the other.

Current hieght: 183-185 cm
Goal: 188 cm
