Microfractures
How do you create microfractures in your legs and what do you do afterwards?

Please comment.
And please don't make accusations about this thread, because I simply can't find an existing thread of the same subject.

RE: Microfractures
Heard it was running uphill and downhill or something...
just running and jumping (maybe?), but definitely running.
I remember it talked about a guy running uphill and then stretching his legs while there were these "microfractures" and in the morning when it heals it would just grow.
hope that helped

RE: Microfractures
Frm my understanding its basically when u do vigorous exercises like running (sprints) it causes small tiny micro splints to form in your shinbone and these fractures will heal in a matter of minutes. So the theory I read (that is somewhat proven) is that u do sprints like crazy until u feel all wobbly and put weights on your legs to elongate your bone when it is vunerable and basically do that for 2 hours. Yeahh... I havent tried it yet, but Im abit scared, imean, what if my bones CURVE and I become retarded! *paranoia*

RE: Microfractures
this routine won't work. the little fractures will close if not too much harm is done.
ankle weights are thought to pull the sides of the fractures away from eachother, creating space for new bone to grow and so elongating the legs. But we're talking about microfractures, not full fractures (in which case you could indeed pull the 2 sides apart creating space - as in height increase surgery). This routine will however thicken your bones.
Those who do grow from this routine actually grow in their growth plates, because vibration and mechanic force stimulates the epiphyseal plate to differentiate, causing growth lenthwise. So if you're younger than 18, start running and jumping, but scratch the ankle weights.

so, you're saying microfractures thicken the bones?

RE: Microfractures
no, the microfractures will just close. But mechanical stress thickens bones.

I'm mid 18. So microfractures only thicken the bone not making it grow? What else can I do to atleast be taller. I take this personal issue VERY. VERY seriously.

RE: Microfractures
initially it is thought that wearing ankle weights for 1-2hrs after creating microfractures (through sprinting, jogging w/ ankle weights, running, jumping, or other high impact activities) stretches the microfractures, and when you go to sleep, they heal and thus the shin bones are elongated.
however some other ppl are saying that microfractures being stretched is impossible and that what the ankle weights are actually doing is stretching the knee cartilage and it turns into bone or something and your legs grow
however im not sure which is the correct theory and so yea. i have 2 theories but i have no freakin idea which is correct so i wanna know as well = ..=
